What’s a good place to go fishing around Houston and Galveston?

Hey guys,
I’m kind of new to the fishing scene, last year I went fishing a few times in a pier in Galveston, but that pier was distroyed by hurricane Ike. I wanna go fishing tomorrow but I’m not sure what’s a excellent place to go to, any suggestions?
Be grateful you
well what i really meant is specific locations.

Sorry, I saw your question late.
All of the piers were ruined by IKE. Few are in the process of being rebuilt. I reckon they are starting on the Sylvan beach pier.
I hear they are catching flounder around Dolar Point off the Texas City Levy. You can fish off the rocks or wade that area easily–it is a hard sand bottom.
There are 2 parks in San Leon where you can fish off the banks. (646 to the blinking light by Noah’s Ark. You can go past the blinking light and there is a public ramp, you can enter the fill up there or fish off the bank on the right. OR turn right at the blinking lighnt and go several miles down to Bayshore Park. There’s a public ramp and bank fishing.
There is an area in Seabrook off Toddville road where you can bank fish or wade. Exit by the Kemah Seabrook bridge on the Seabrook side. That area is called Seabrook flats. You can bank fish also on 2nd road in the lagoon. A excellent place to take kids.
I haven’t heard of hurricane debris in any of these areas but as always, be careful. Also, remember to shuffle your feet if you are wading–there are some stingrays. No problem though if you keep your toes in contact with the bottom.
Surf fishing is starting to heat up.
Seawolf Park is open. The pier is washed out but you can fish off the wall or rocks. It’s a nice place to fish. You have to pay to go into the park. There isa lot of playground equiptment, also a excellent place if you are taking kids.

Tides were very high days gone by so there were a lot of areas that are usually excellent for bank fishing that were under fill up days gone by.
