I have been Fishing for 13 years and still have not found a fishing lure that is nearly guaranteed to catch a fish.

No lure is guaranteed to catch fish all the time. If that were the case we would not have tackle bags and boxes stuffed w/ baits. You should find the lures you have confidence in and apply them to the proper situations so they yield. You can load the boat one day with a lure and not catch a additional fish for a year on it. Fishing is fun but it is also a learning experience.

Raprunr hit it, the Rapala is the #1 lure. It has spellbound more world record fish than any additional lure.
There are a variety of styles and colors but for all around fishing success, try a #7 floating silver/black back. Like he said, the original rapala.
Be sure to use a split ring or loop knot to give it the best action. You can use this on the surface, popping it like a wounded bait fish, you can retrieve it quick or slow to make it swim (in fact it has a built in action) or you can troll it. You can even weight it like a carolina rig and drag it along the bottom.
A fantastic lure that has produced for me, grouper, snapper, and kings down in the Fla Keys, all the way to Rainbow Trout in the Mountains of North carolina. All species of fish, a few turtles, and a bird or two.
My brother-in-law once said I could take a pee in the woods, cast my rapala in the puddle and get a bite 2 out of 3 times!

The simple answer here is in my name….RapRunR….Rapalas are nearly guaranteed in any situation. I live on the Allegheny River in NW PA and use these 75% of the time. The original rap in black/white is a proven fool proof lure that gets results. Of course i have many many color variations and sizes, floaters, sinkers, jointed and suspending plus the shad raps to cover any situation of depth or current.

I agree 100% with Ken S.. You just cant go incorrect with a hen tail, just make sure you use a ball bearing swivel to avoid line twists. Of course theyre are no guarentees when it comes to fishing, but a white Hen tail works on just about everything in original fill up.

I agree with all that said the hen tail. The hen tail or the curly tailed grub are my two favorite baits. They catch bluegill, bass, crappie, trout, maybe a walleye or two. Very very excellent baits.

well if you are a plastic bait kinda person if you wanna catch bass a popper bait or any types of spinners or if you dont mind spending some money go buy the banjo minnow they work for me i spellbound a 6 pound 2 oz bass last year with it

Forget the lures. Go with simple night crawlers. That is just about a lock to catch you something. Excellent luck.

Depending on what fish your looking for. I fish for carnivore fish(Salmon, trout ETC.) and nearly every time a sliver blue fox lure works wonders.

No guarantees but I would go with a jig and or a jig spinner. With live bait or gulp.

Silver and Black Rapala. White topwater popper or the Money Minnow works well for me.
