What Are Some Good Places To Go Fishing?

I want to go fishing with some friends and we want to go to a silent place where we can fish, hang out, maybe have some beers. That doesn’t require a license, and it has to be anywhere within the Los Angeles county area in California. Thanks in advance.

Santa Ana River Lakes, Anaheim Lake, Irvine Lake and Corona Lakes all have what we cal “pay to play” you pay their preset fee you keep only the number of fish they allow they have boat rentals and you can fish from shore and it’s trout season. all have bass, crappie catfish bluegill and Santa Ana River Lakes has a lake full of Whiper(the effect of cross breeding stripers and white bass.
For trout use kastmasters from shore and the sierra cocktail from boats the bass are well fished for and still take nearly all baits (no one keeps them though) and mini jigs and flies for the sun fish work. Santa Ana river lakes even has all night cat fishing nights and Irvine too.
As far as fishing from the piers, no drinking! even in Newport Harbor on dock with blue rails (they are county owned) and on community piers in the ocean no license required all (any) additional place you gotta have it!
if you all should get fishing licenses for Christmas at Davies Locker in Newport/ Balboa Peninsula you can rent skiffs and there are Halibut all over in the bay till march.

as far as I know the place you are looking for does not continue living. There are bounty of quite places to fish and have some beers but none that do not require a licence. There are only two free days per year(where you can fish without a licence) additional than that you and your buddies can. Buy ” one day licences” they are positively cheap ( under 20 bucks) I estimate you. Could chance fishing without a licence but if you get spellbound there is a heavy fine and you won’t be Aloud to get a licence for a few years. I hope this helps and excellent luck.

Any public pier or dock or any man made jetty does not require a fishing license in California. In the Los Angeles are you might try the port of Long beach, Seal Beach Pier, Santa Monica Pier or Redondo beach pier. Many of the dock in Newport Harbor are also excellent places to fish. Excellent luck and designate a driver if you are going to can to many beers.

You’re probably going to have to take a quick drive to Orange County to fish at private lakes like Santa Ana River Lakes or Irvine Lake. They’re private and you pay a fee to fish but it doesn’t require a fishing license from the Department Of Fish & Game. They’re stocked regularly and usually have pretty huge fish.

I don’t know the west coast, but on the east coast you don’t need a license to fish in salt fill up. Go to a fishing pier and knock yourselves out. You’ll have to check out the community policy for yourself.

find a small farm pond that no one has really fished and start their using crickets, minnows, and worms. also try top fill up lures in the Morning and rubber worms in the afternoon.

No license, you need to find a publicly owned pier. If you are not sure what spots be eligible in your area, check out http://www.dfg.ca.gov
