I will be in Jamaica for a few weeks and wanted to do some fishing from piers, rocks and surf. I have fished all my life for freshwater walleye, bass, pike, and so on.
Ocean fishing is something I am ignorant of and could use some tips for equipment, tactics, lures, and baits. Any Info would be great or any cool links.
I will be taking several orphan boys with me and their success and enjoyment is my goal, Thank you.

I was thinking about buying a boat. Are there any specific procedures and licenses that I need to go ocean fishing? Where would I launch the boat from and what is the average cost (bait, gas) to go fishing in southern California. I am not much of a fisherman so I am quite ignorant on this subject. Any answers appreciated.

I am trying to find a place to go salt-water fishing in Rhode Island. I called the Fish and Wildlife Service and did not get a good answer for a place to go fishing in the ocean. I just recently moved to the Jersey Shore (Asbury Park Area) and am really interested in fishing. I’ve only fished for bass and lake perch on Lake Erie in the past, so I have no idea where to start or what bait to use. Thanks for the help!
