So here I am asking you, humbly, yahoo answers community… What can you tell me about surf fishing on Oahu?

Are we out of our league? I just don’t want to see my pole break in half or get cut by some strange fish I’ve never even heard of, or spend a day in one spot and not see any bites.

Thank you for anything you can offer, I’ll continue exploring the depths of the Internet for more information, but I appreciate your help.

Surf Casting requires special gear. It’s its own type of fishing. You have to throw that hook WAAAY out there. And I have never heard of Ocean Fishing which DIDN’T require a license.

I once saw someone surf casting, and thought it was cool, and decided to get into it. I bought two books on it and read up. Then I suddenly realized it was a lot of work, and required a lot of technique and a lot of expensive equipment, and decided not to get into it.
