Just started Fishing and am wondering what’s the best type of fishing for a beginner?

I’ve been on holiday to turkey float fishing in the sea and spellbound to fish in an hours fishing using a fishing reel but I have a spiraling rod.
What do I need to do to turn it into a float fishing rod?
