Salt water Striped Bass (Rockfish) also sporadically visit the inlet, with some of the largest of the season there in March...A 14 foot boat is not a good craft for Oregon Inlet, seaward of the bridge. When the wind is in and the tide runs out, it is treacherous...Also large speckled trout frequent the rocks bolstering the bridge abutments on the south side...
