12 i reckon
the adult does not need a license unless you plot on fishing yourself.
no your children dont need fishing licenses becuase they are kids.Teenagers and adults 16-older need licenses. Also the kids need to be supervised by an adult with a valid fishing license. If you fish on your private property no one needs a license.Since your in Minnesota and i’m in Michigan the policy and regulation might be subject to change but the rule i just stated applied to many places.
Ya’ don’t have ta’ worry, the age that a person is required ta’ have one is 16 years. Excellent luck and hope the kids catch a lot of em’

fish without a license.
Well, where I live, I reckon you need a fishing license at either 15 or 16, so I’m sure that’s pretty common. Trust me, your kids won’t need a license at their age.
I don’t know about where you live but here in NC, you can fish without a license if yoiu are under 10.
In California as long as you are under 16 you don’t need a fishing license
