Some excellent answers by now but need to add that you should take spool cap off the reel and cheap to see if it has a single or double pick up!You will see one prong on the side or 2 prongs if it is a double pick up.
If it is a single pick up what mau be happening is the line is light and with no or not ehough weight on it to catch on pick up it is imparting twist to the line while reeling in.To help solve this place slight tension on line when first reeling in so that the pick up grabs the line.
Also many spincast reels are made for 8 to 10 test line for these will pick up better since of cap space allows for line to be picked up by the pick ups when using larger diameter lines but has to much space for small diameter lines.

Very possibly your line is twisted. If you loaded the reel by winding it on while it was spiraling off the end of the spool, it could be all twisted up. If this is the case, whenever there’s a small slack in your line it will wrap around itself.
There are two ways to fix this — one is to drag the line behind a slow-moving boat (with nothing on the end of it) and let the twists work out, then wind it back on. The additional way is to just strip the line off and reload the reel with new line.
Have a tackle shop fill your reel with line, most excellent shops have a machine for this.
Each new reel of line has a top side & a bottom side, the top side usally has the sticker paper , while the bottom doesn’t. Always reel the line onto your spool from the top side & not just any way you can. If you will use a small cut of inside tube to spool the line thru while holding it between your thumb & forefinger that will help take the twist out of the line while you are spooling onto your reel.
Keep tension on the line with your index finger before you start reeling. When casting you need to immediately let go of the line as it is released. It’s all about timing with a spin cast. You’ll get it my man.
And what lucky man said. He’s right. You need to get the memory out of your line.

Your line has too much memory. If you take a length of it and hold one end, it should not look like a slinky. Find a line that falls straight or nearly straight when you hold one end. No more tangles.
when you hook a fish, and the drag is coming off your reel (to preclude break offs, you can set this w/ a knob on the top of your reel or it may be on the side near the handle. tighten it enough that it takes a small effort to pull line off.)
anyway, when you hook a fish and it is pulling drag off dont reel, which twists the line. wait till the fish stops pulling drag and then reel.
also, every once in a while pick the bait up out of the fill up and let it untwist and you should be excellent
not sure what kind of setup you have but i can try to answer you may have a very light line so when you cast the wind maybe pulling it from the spool causing a “wind knot” if you use a heavier lb test line it will help with this also you may want to try spooling alil tighter if you have any ???’s just message me more than willing to help
First I would get rid of the spincast reel and get a regular decent quality spiraling reel. Then I would get a spool of excellent quality line and place it on the new reel. Then I would start over. You can get a decent spiraling combo for about fifty bucks. You will find with decent (not expensive) tackle your fishing experience will be much more nourishing. and you tangle problems will mostly go away.
