I was fishing now by a bayou (canal) and I could not catch a thing. Could it be the weather? Is there a way to go the line to get fish simpler? Did I not wait long enough? Could they just not be biting now? What?

Weather? Yes it could be! Movement? Yes at times a bait or lure needs a small more or no action at all so try each and all ways.Subtle,no movement,twitching give them a try. Waiting? Could be but how long did you fish,sometimes it may take time others it may not.With live or dead bait it can take time for fish to find bait in different conditions. Not biting now? Very possible to cold to hot so many variables! What? Hey we all have excellent and terrible days of fishing so keep trying and find out what works for you and where you fish.
Try different depths,go your bait or twitch it,try new things!Excellent luck!
The Injun knows what he is talking about. If you try different spots with different fill up depths, you may get a hit. Fish are more agressive at different temperatures.

pick up a few assorted soft plastic lures – crappie jigs, worms, tubes and start from there.
