You're a hundred miles out at sea away from home, from the office, cell phones and the home computer enjoying some deep sea fishing being with friends on a nice offshore boat.

Why would you want to be bothered by the internet?

Satellite. Sea Tel is one company in that business, another is KVH Marine. Generally, these systems are slower than land based broadband and quite a bit more money. http://www.kvh.com/ and http://www.cobham.com/about-cobham/avionics-and-surveillance/about-us/satcom/concord/about-sea-tel.aspx

I doubt a cell card will reach a tower that far out.
Satellite link is your only hope. People use it all the time. Costs????

my best guess would be some sort of satellite device like hughesnet because most of those laptop connect cards get their signal from standard cell phone towers which don't have a range of 100 miles or anything close to that.
