admin I just went into my new apartment right by the lake. I don’t have a fishing license and wanted to know if i needed one to fish in the lake in my apartment complex.
If it is private property and you have consent to fish there usually you don’t need a license. Check you state DNR to be sure. Although, buying a fishing license is a excellent thing. The money collected is earmaked for public fishing and hunting and the state’s DNR. It is no longer going into the general fund of the state. It goes frankly to support fishing and wildlife.
It is the ONLY state tax that I agree with and don’t mind paying.
If it is owned by the apatment i would probably say you don’t but i am not sure sow just check on it though!
Since it is privately owned, my the housing company probabley not, but might as well check with apartment personnel. Better then getting a ticket.
If you are on your own private property , no , unless your lake has been stocked by the fish@ Game department .
it depends on where you live. i believe that every state here in the u.s. though requires a fishing license to fish on public property.
yes you do.. unless you yourself own the land, and its not stocked by the fish and game dept. i had the same problem.. i went to a new house, and a pond cuts around the back… i was fishing without a liscence, and got a fine for it… i mean its only 35 bucks for a liscence”in nh” so its better than getting a fine.. just get it to be safe.. dont do what i did…
i would say yes if your over 16 but you should contact your states DNR
