If you think you want to fish a bass tournament there are many possibilities, from club fishing to professional trails. Every state has many options in the mid-range, too, where you pay up to $200 and fish as an individual in a draw tournament or as a team with your partner.

If I Choose the Wrong Color Bait Can I Still Catch Bass?

Big Lake Guntersville Bass
Does color of your bait matter? Sometimes I think it makes no difference, sometimes I think it is critical. Captain Mike Gerry says he is convinced more and more, especially as lakes get more crowded, that color of bass fishing baits does make a difference.
<p?
What do you think? Is color critical or is it more important to the fisherman than to the fish? Share your comments in the section below.

Top Ten Fish Recipes

I love fish cooked in a lot of different ways. Some are more healthy than others, but they all taste good. As the weather turns bad this is a good time to pull out some of those frozen fish and cook them up, bring back the fishing trip when you caught them. Fresh fish are better but even frozen fish are better than no fish at all.

Bridges Are Forgotten Bass Fishing Hotspots

Captain Mike Gerry says you can always catch bass around bridges and tells why. There are many factors that control bass behavior and most of those factors can be found around bridges.

Captain Mike lists baitfish, cover and current as his top reasons bass are around bridges. I would add structure – not only is there rock cover around bridges, their structure offers a long point running out to the deepest water in the area, and also vertical structure and cover with the pilings under the bridge. Add shade under the bridge on bright, sunny days, too.

Do you fish bridges for bass? Are there any other factors that you think make them good?
