For the past eight years I have tried to go fishing every single day in a calendar year. Think about that - going fishing every day, no matter what the weather, no matter how sick, no matter where you travel. My first seven tries failed. Something - a trip out of the US, an operation on my hand, something, made me miss days. But 2009 was different!

The days start getting longer after December 21 and Captain Mike Gerry says the bass respond to these longer days by moving and biting better. Even with just a few more minutes of light each day, bass respond. Do you agree? Share your thoughts in the comments section below
